Not directly. We operate outside of the restrictions of insurance so we can provide the best quality of care.
If you have PPO Insurance and your deductible has been met, most PPO insurance plans reimburse around 50% of Shirley's fees.
Shirley is happy to provide you with a Superbill so you can submit it to your insurance. Below are three examples to give you an idea of what you could expect:
25-minute Follow Up Session Example:
You pay Shirley $250 for a 25-minute session.
Your PPO could reimburse you around $125.
Your total Out-Of-Pocket expense would be around $125.
50-minute Follow Up Session Example:
You pay Shirley $400 for a 50-minute session.
Your PPO could reimburse you around $200.
Your total Out-Of-Pocket expense would be around $200.
***Shirley is not an employee of any HMO insurance plans so her services are not covered by HMO insurance. This allows Shirley the freedom to select the best services and medications for each individual.
Shirley does not accept Medi-Cal or Medicare and is considered a "Non-Provider". Medicare and Medi-Cal will not reimburse you for Shirley's fees.

In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, Shirley is doing all sessions via remote telehealth/telemed. Links to sessions are texted to clients before each session.
Yes.
As a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, Shirley legally prescribes medication.
Shirley prescribes:
antidepressants
non-habit-forming anti-anxiety medication
non-habit-forming sleep aids
non-stimulant medication for ADHD
medications to wean off habit-forming meds
Shirley does NOT prescribe:
Stimulants for ADHD
Mood Stabilizers for Bipolar Disorder
Refills are handled at the time of each appointment after the effects of medication have been assessed.
Please note, that Shirley gives you enough refills until your next appointment so she does not do "Auto-refills" or "FAX-backs" from pharmacies.
If you need to reschedule an appointment please make sure to do so before you run out of medicine.
