Do you accept insurance?

Not directly. We operate outside of the restrictions of insurance so we can provide the best quality of care. Shirley is happy to provide you with a Superbill so you can submit it to your insurance. Shirley is not an employee of any HMO insurance plans so her services are not covered by HMO insurance. This allows Shirley the freedom to select the best services and medications for each individual.

Yes! Shirley offers HIPAA compliant telehealth video therapy.

This varies depending on the type and severity of issue(s). Many clients experience benefits within a week or two. The speed and degree of improvement varies and is influenced by each client's commitment and desire for change.

Yes. As a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, Shirley legally prescribes medication.

How do you process prescription refills?

Refills are handled at the time of each appointment after the effects of medication have been assessed. If you need to reschedule an appointment please make sure to do so before you run out of medicine.

Shirley is best reached via text/SMS. Shirley has offices in Newport Beach and Seal Beach. For the time being, Shirley is doing all sessions via remote telehealth/telemedicine. Links to sessions are texted to clients before each session.

Yes! You can reach our Practice Manager, Jessica, through our patient portal or you can text Shirley directly if you have been given her private number.

Do you treat minors under the age of 18?

Yes, with limitations. Shirley offers coaching and hypnotherapy. Shirley does not prescribe medication for minors.

What is your cancellation policy?

If you need to cancel or reschedule, you can do so with no charge at least 2 days before your appointment. If you need to cancel or reschedule within 2 days of your appointment, you will be charged the full fee unless it is an emergency.

Shirley offers integrative sleep therapies as a part of her integrative approach to mental and behavioral health. This includes but is not limited to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBTI), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), clinical hypnotherapy, temporary non-habit-forming sleep aids, guided imagery, mindfulness, nutrition and exercise guidance, meditation and more.
