Do you accept insurance?
No. Shirley does not accept insurance, as in she doesn't physically take your insurance card and bill insurance directly, however, most PPO insurances pay 50-70% of her fees if you have met your yearly deductible.
Shirley provides a "Superbill" on request, which you can send to you insurance company for reimbursement.
If you would like a "Superbill" please request one at the time of your session.
Shirley is considered "Out of Network".
Please be advised that Shirley is a Non-Provider for Medi-Cal and Medicare.
Do you prescribe medicine?
Yes. As a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Shirley is able to prescribe medicine.
Please be advised that Shirley does not prescribe stimulants, pain medication nor medication for Bipolar Disorder (Mood Stabilizers).
Do you prescribe stimulants or pain meds?
No. At this time Shirley does not prescribe stimulants or pain medication.
How do you process prescription refills?
Refills are handled at the time of each appointment after the effects of medicine have been assessed.
Please note, that Shirley gives you enough refills until your next appointment so she does not do
"Auto-refills" or "FAX-backs" from pharmacies.
If you need to reschedule an appointment please make sure to do so before you run out of medicine.
Do you treat Bipolar Disorder (Manic Depression)?
No. Shirley does not treat Bipolar Disorder but is happy to refer you to a qualified professional.
What is your cancellation policy?
Please allow 48 hours for cancellation of an appointment so your time may be used by someone else who may need an appointment, or you will be responsible for the session fee.
