What To Expect?
Shirley utilizes powerful combinations of CBTI, Therapy/Counseling, Hypnotherapy and other tools to treat sleep issues and insomnia without having to depend on sleeping pills.
CBTI is an approved method for treating insomnia without the use of sleeping pills. It includes regular, often weekly, visits where you will be given a series of sleep assessments, and be asked to complete a sleep diary in order to change the way you sleep. Some of the key components include Sleep Restriction Therapy, Stimulus Control Instructions, Sleep Hygiene Education and Relapse Prevention.
Hypnotherapy aids the entire process in working with the subconscious mind. Numerous cognitive neuroscientists have conducted studies that have revealed that only 5% of our cognitive activities (decisions, emotions, actions, behavior) is conscious whereas the remaining 95% is generated in a non-conscious manner. Hypnotherapy works with this phenomenon rather than against it.
As a last resort, if medicine is still needed as a temporary aid, she can prescribe the best non-habit-forming sleep aid to assist the process.
